Nothing terrible happens. Her baby is fine. She notices that when her partner’s horrible parents are visiting and not helping at all, if she sings to her baby, everyone falls asleep. As soon as she stops, they wake up, unaware that they had been asleep. She begins to test this out in public places. How many people does it work on? Is there a radius? Do people outside the radius see what is happening?
